How you can undertake a Cert Four through 3CIR Online study and Recognition of Prior Learning are the two methods of obtaining a Certificate IV qualification through our orangisation. Your experience in your chosen field will likely impact which pathway you choose. Firstly, our online study method is self-paced and only requires a computer and an internet connect to complete. You can learn in your own time and find a way that works with your social and professional responsibilities. This way you can still earn money through employment while you are studying. Thankfully you don’t have to choose one or the other when it comes to our Certificate IV qualifications. You’ll be assigned a training supervisor who you can reach out to at any point in your learning for help or clarification of any of the subject matter.

RPL for Cert IV qualifications Our second option for gaining a Cert IV through 3CIR is by Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This is for those who have worked in a similar fiend to the qualification they wish to pursue. It’s cheaper than online study and uses your existing skills and knowledge, matching them to the learning outcomes of your selected course. If they align, then you can receive the Certificate IV qualification without additional study. Depending on the evidence you provide in support of your skills, you could have your Cert IV in weeks, not years. This process is made possible through the Australian Qualifications Framework which acknowledges that experience is just as valuable as traditional learning. An example of RPL would be someone who has worked as an Office Assistant role and would like to obtain a Certificate IV in Business. Throughout their time in employment, they have built up a number of useful skills such as filing, report writing, quality checking etc. All the while they have been working in a rich communication environment and developing procedural knowledge. This would be similar outcomes to studying particular courses within the Cert IV and therefore they would qualify as completed units for a cert IV business qualification.

However, while you may be very experienced in your role, our assessors still need to verify your skills before a qualification can be awarded. This is where evidence becomes important. Evidence for Certificate IV qualification can take many forms. These can include a CV, current and former position descriptions, performance appraisals etc. Even photos of you completing work can be included. The more documentation you can provide, the easier it is for our assessors to grant you a Certificate IV qualification.

If you learning online isn’t for you and you can’t draw on your existing experience through RPL, you may be able to undertake a study at a physical locational. We have a number of partner organisations across Australia that can provide facilities in which you can study. Contact us to discuss.

Why should you pursue a career in vocational education and training?
