Entry Requirements

All BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety core units or equivalent competencies. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to four of the following units, which have been mapped as equivalent. Note: BSBWHS519 is new to the core of the Diploma, equivalent to its previous version, and a requirement for entry into the Advanced Diploma.

  • BSBWHS513 Lead WHS risk management
  • BSBWHS515 Lead initial response to and investigate WHS incidents
  • BSBWHS516 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining an organisation’s WHS management system
  • BSBWHS519 Lead the development and use of WHS risk management tools
  • BSBWHS522 Manage WHS consultation and participation processes

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 11

5 core units  plus

6 elective units,  of which:

  • at least 3 elective units must be from Group A
  • for the remaining 3 units:
  • up to 3 units may be selected from Group B
  • if not listed, 1 unit may be selected from a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Delivery Pathways
3CIR is an authorised third party of Asset College (RTO #31718). We provide the following methods of study in line with their policies: OPTION 1 – Study Online Our standard online delivery option allows you to complete one unit per month for up to 12 months. During this time, you will have regular contact with a dedicated trainer to assist you with your studies. We recommend dedicating 20-25 hours per week to ensure you get the most out of your learning experience. Our accelerated learning option may suit those with prior knowledge, skills or qualifications. This option allows you to complete two monthly units for up to six months. To succeed in this intensive program, we recommend dedicating 30-40 hours per week to your studies. Upon successful enrolment, you will be granted access to our interactive and user-friendly eLearning platform. Each unit includes reading materials and a series of assessment activities that can be completed at your own pace and convenience. OPTION 2 – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) If you already have skills and experience relevant to this qualification, you may be eligible for RPL and receive your qualification with little or zero additional study. Contact us or complete an RPL Assessment Form to determine the right option. OPTION 3 – Study Online at our Facilities You can complete the same course online at our training partner’s facilities using their resources and equipment at no extra cost. 3CIR and/or our training partner will have staff available to provide additional support if required. Note: Subject to availability, bookings are essential. OPTION 4 – Study in Class Although we do not generally offer courses in class, we can schedule a 5 or 10-day face-to-face workshop for groups of 5 or more students.
