What qualification levels are available?

3CIR offers six AQF qualification levels: Certificate II, Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Graduate Diploma. Each level builds on the previous — from foundational workplace skills at Certificate II through to strategic leadership and executive-level management at Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8). All qualifications are listed on training.gov.au under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

How much do qualifications cost with the 25% discount?

With the 25% military and emergency services discount applied: Certificate II from $371.25, Certificate III from $637.50, Certificate IV from $862.50, Diploma from $1,125, Advanced Diploma from $1,612.50, and Graduate Diploma from $2,737.50. What is the difference between RPL and online study?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assesses your existing skills and service experience against qualification requirements — no classroom study needed. Online study is traditional learning completed through a self-paced digital platform. Most 3CIR qualifications offer both pathways, and many candidates combine RPL with targeted online top-up units for the fastest route to completion.

Which qualification category is right for me?

It depends on your service background and career goals. Personnel with command and team leadership experience suit Leadership & Management. Security, intelligence, or investigations roles suit Security & Risk or Government. Use-of-force trainers, threat managers, and operational safety leads suit the new Operational Safety category. How long does RPL take?

The 11346NAT Diploma of Operational Safety is a nationally accredited AQF Level 5 qualification (accredited May 2025) for veterans, police, corrections, and security personnel with operational experience. Three streams are available: General, Use of Force Instructor, and Critical Threat Management. Available via RPL only at $1,387.50 with the 25% military and emergency services discount applied.
