The BSB60619 Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety reflects the role of individuals who apply advanced practical knowledge and skills to coordinate, facilitate, and maintain a WHS program. This qualification covers strategy development and implementation, WHS performance evaluation, conducting safety audits, applying safe design principles, and managing ergonomic risks in the workplace.
This qualification comprises 11 units of competency — 5 core units covering WHS culture strategy, organisational WHS performance evaluation, WHS auditing, safe design principles, and ergonomics management. Plus 6 electives from Group A (compliance systems, organisational leadership, psychological safety, occupational hygiene) and Group B (knowledge management, change management, emotional intelligence, project scope, stakeholder engagement, innovation, organisational strategy, learning strategies).
The Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety is the qualification that positions you for senior WHS leadership. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to four of the following units, which have been mapped as equivalent: BSBWHS513 Lead WHS risk management; BSBWHS515 Lead initial response to and investigate WHS incidents; BSBWHS516 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining an organisation’s WHS management system; BSBWHS519 Lead the development and use of WHS risk management tools; BSBWHS522 Manage WHS consultation and participation processes. Note: BSBWHS519 is new to the core of the Diploma, equivalent to its previous version, and a requirement for entry into the Advanced Diploma.
