The PSP50416 Diploma of Government Investigations is a nationally recognised vocational qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5, drawn from the Public Sector Training Package (PSP). It is governed by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and registered on training.gov.au. It supersedes PSP51712 Diploma of Government (Investigation).
The qualification develops the competencies required for the coordination, supervision, and review of government investigations. Holders apply integrated technical and theoretical concepts to plan investigation strategy, allocate resources, manage investigators, oversee evidence handling, and evaluate investigation outcomes. It is suitable for investigation managers, fraud control coordinators, regulatory compliance team leaders, professional standards investigators, and senior officers in agencies such as the AFP, ATO, Services Australia, Department of Home Affairs, ASIC, ACCC, state corruption commissions, and law enforcement.
Successful completion of 11 units of competency is required (5 core + 6 elective). Per the Australian Government Investigations Standards (AGIS) 2022, this Diploma is the minimum recommended qualification for persons engaged in the coordination and supervision of government investigations. The qualification is awarded by Asset College (RTO #31718). Training and assessment are delivered under a third-party arrangement with Asset College RTO #31718.
