The PSP40416 Certificate IV in Government Investigations is a nationally recognised vocational qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 4, drawn from the Public Sector Training Package (PSP). It is governed by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), registered on training.gov.au, and aligned to the Australian Government Investigations Standards (AGIS) 2022 — the Commonwealth standard for public sector investigations.
The qualification develops the operational competencies required to plan, initiate, conduct, and finalise government investigations, apply regulatory powers, gather evidence through interviews and inspections, and produce admissible records. Successful completion of 15 units of competency is required (6 core + 9 elective) across two specialisation pathways: Generalist and Regulatory Compliance. The qualification is awarded by Asset College (RTO #31718). Training and assessment are delivered under a third-party arrangement with Asset College RTO #31718. It provides a direct pathway to PSP50416 Diploma of Government Investigations.
