Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the Graduate Diploma of Portfolio Management (BSB80220) is a nationally regulated assessment process that evaluates a person's existing portfolio governance, program prioritisation, strategic investment, and multi-project leadership skills against the 8 competency units required for this Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8 credential — the highest level in vocational education. Rather than completing formal study, experienced portfolio managers and senior project leaders provide evidence of their existing skills — gathered from governing complex project portfolios — which is assessed by qualified assessors against each unit's performance criteria. Qualifications are issued by Asset College (RTO 31718), regulated by ASQA, and carry identical standing to credentials obtained through traditional study pathways. This qualification is available exclusively through RPL.
