This qualification has been designed for individuals who are responsible for security and risk management.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.


A Certificate IV in Security Management (CPP40719) will be awarded upon successful completion of this course. This will be suited to the following job roles:

Senior Security Officer
Security Supervisor
Security Trainer
Security Risk Coordinator


You will gain knowledge and experience in areas such as:

Manage a safe workplace in the security industry

To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:


12 units of competency

4 core units

8 elective units.

Electives are to be chosen as follows:


all units within Group A or all units within Group B

up to 4 units within Groups A, B or C not already selected

an elective unit may be selected from Group D or from any training package, as long as it contributes to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome and maintains the AQF level of this qualification.
