Get an RPL Qualification for Your Security Experience: Work with 3CIR Towards Your Security RPL
Have you spent the past few years serving in the military? Are you a police officer who wants to move into a more private enterprise driven field? Have you worked in security or risk management capacities in past jobs, but never pursued educational or professional certification in the security niche?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the questions above, then you may be a perfect candidate for 3CIR’s security RPL program. RPL, or recognition of prior learning, is designed to give weight to skills and knowledge accumulated informally. With our RPL security program, you can get your Diploma or Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management based on the learning you’ve already done.
Expediting Your Educational Experience with RPL
At 3CIR, we offer self-paced online courses in a variety of subjects and fields. Our Diploma and Certificate IV courses in Security and Risk Management represent just a small fraction of the educational opportunities that we make available to students.
For students with no prior experience in security, military service, or emergency services, both of our Security and Risk Management involve multiple units. Because these courses are online-based and self-paced, it’s ultimately up to the student how long they take to complete. Typically, though, the Diploma of Security and Risk Management takes between one and two years, while the Certificate IV takes between six months and two years.
If you already possess experience in security, then pursuing a security RPL through 3CIR can allow you to save a lot of time and hard work. While the competencies these courses teach are necessary for individuals seeking careers in security or risk management capacities, they would largely be redundant for someone who already has experience in the field. If you want to start your career sooner, then leveraging your existing skills through RPL is certainly the way to go.
Earning Your RPL in Security
3CIR’s Diploma and Certificate IV courses in Security and Risk Management are designed to teach students
- How to design, coordinate and manage security operations
- How to evaluate the strength or vulnerability of a security plan
- How to communicate with clients and advise them on security needs
In many cases, individuals who have worked in military, police or security capacities already have much of the skills and knowledge necessary to perform these functions. If you believe that you should qualify for a security RPL, 3CIR can help you create a plan to get the certification you need. This certification, of course, shows employers and clients that you have the qualifications necessary to work and lead in a security capacity.
If you are interested in pursuing an RPL in security, you can start by filling out and submitting 3CIR’s RPL Assessment Form. This form will help us assess your experiences and determine whether they merit certification or partial certification. If you have any questions about the form, our security courses or RPL in general, call us directly on 07 3063 0729.
