Plan the Right RPL Program for You, by Going through 3CIR’s RPL Assessment Procedure
Not all education is formal education. In today’s job market, employers often call for certain degrees, certifications, or qualifications from job applicants. Having a university background is regarded as extremely important in many jobs and fields. However, just because you haven’t gone to university doesn’t mean you aren’t educated. On the contrary, you can learn just as much—if not more—from past jobs, military service, and other experience. The RPL process is designed to recognise the validity of these less formal types of learning and to give them the same weight as university education.
About the RPL Procedure
At 3CIR, we offer RPL programs for students who wish to take their existing skills and knowledge to the workforce, but who don’t have the necessary certifications to do so. In particular, we specialise in helping ex-military and members of the armed forces translate their considerable skills and experience into actual educational certifications. Be Army, Navy or Air Force we can assist. However, by no means do we require our students to have military experience.
If you are interested in creating an RPL plan that takes your skills and experiences into account, 3CIR is the right place to start. The RPL procedure starts by filling out our RPL Assessment Form, which you can find by clicking here. On this form, you will be asked to answer questions about yourself and your working life. Below, we have outlined what you can expect from each section of the form.
- Pre-Assessment Form: Here, you will be asked to answer three simple yes or no questions. We mostly just want to know whether you’ve sought RPL assessment from us in the past and whether you are an ex or current military service member.
- Personal Details: This section is the easiest part of the form. Just tell us your name, your address, and your contact information so that we can place your details on file.
- Working Life: We can’t determine what kind of RPL plan is right for you without knowing a bit about your work history. This section includes a checklist of professions and experience types that often carry over well to RPL programs. Tell us your current profession, then check the boxes for all the fields in which you’ve worked over the years.
- Evidence & Information Towards Your RPL Application: Here, you can attach documents that you believe support your application for recognition of prior learning. These documents may include reference letters from current employers, resumes, academic transcripts and more. Include anything you believe will help give us a better idea of who you are, the skills you have and why those skills should be recognised with RPL credit.
Overall, just be as honest and thorough as you can be. The more we know about you, the more well-equipped we will be to design an RPL plan for you.
